This server is here to run games and build a solid community. Keep it simple: be respectful, be fair, and don’t make it weird.
Discord rules
Be respectful
Treat everyone with basic decency. No harassment, hate speech, discrimination, bullying, or personal attacks. If you can’t disagree without being hostile, this isn’t your place.
No politics (non‑negotiable)
Due to current world circumstances, we are enforcing a strict NO POLITICS rule. This is a neutral server with no connection to present real‑world issues, and we will keep it that way. If politics is brought up, the rule will be enforced via ban.
Keep content appropriate
Keep the server suitable for the audience. Avoid excessive swearing, graphic content, and any NSFW material.
No spamming or advertising
No spam (messages, links, images). No advertising other servers, products, or services without staff permission.
Stay on topic
Use channels for their intended purposes. Don’t derail conversations or flood channels with unrelated content.
Respect privacy
Don’t share personal information (real names, addresses, photos, etc.) without consent. If someone asks you to stop, stop.
No illegal activities
Anything promoting illegal activity (piracy, hacking, etc.) will lead to an immediate ban.
Listen to moderators
Staff are here to keep the place safe and running. If a moderator tells you to stop, do it.
Have fun & stay engaged
Be a positive part of the community. If you have ideas or feedback, share them with the team.
Rules of honour for D&D sessions
Roll with honour
All dice rolls should be done within D&D Beyond or an approved dice roller (approved by staff). No re‑rolling or modifying results without the DM’s permission.
No metagaming
If you know a monster’s stats/abilities out of game, keep it out of your decisions unless your character would logically know it.
Respect the DM’s story
Don’t intentionally sidestep or disrupt the game. Bring creative ideas, sure — just don’t derail things for your own amusement.
Avoid power gaming
Strong characters are fine. Treat weaknesses and flaws as real. Support the party and let everyone have a moment.
Stay in character
Keep immersion where possible. If you need to step out of character for rules/strategy, do it briefly and respectfully.
Honesty with health & inventory
Track HP, spells, and inventory accurately. Don’t use items/spells without updating your sheet.
Respect fellow players’ turns
Let people play. Don’t interrupt, talk over, or steal the spotlight — especially in combat.
Listen to the DM’s calls
The DM’s ruling stands during the session. If you disagree, raise it calmly after the session.
Enjoy the adventure
We’re here for story, camaraderie, and chaos. Respect playstyles and keep it fun for everyone.
Soundboard and recordings (consent)
With consent from all participants, the Mee6 bot, OBS, Craig bot, or Audacity, may be used to record voice channels for Podcast or Soundboard or Youtube purposes only. These recordings will not be used for any other purposes.
UK GDPR measures
- Consent: Recording only happens if everyone explicitly agrees. If anyone withdraws consent, recording stops immediately. Files can be deleted upon request.
- Purpose limitation: Used only to create soundboard items. Not shared or distributed.
- Data access: Request access via a ticket in #ticket-support.
- Right to erasure: You can request removal of soundboard items and/or deletion of recordings.
- Leaving the server: If you leave, soundboard recordings that include your voice will be deleted within a reasonable timeframe.
- Storage: Recordings are retained for a limited time, then deleted from local storage.
- Security and Privacy: recordings will only ever be used with consent, if that consent is withdrawn then we will remove if requested any recorded data within 30 days from the ticket submission.
Enforcement
Misuse of recordings or unauthorised access results in a permanent ban. Staff breaches mean immediate removal from staff roles and further action as needed.
If you have concerns, want confirmation your recordings were deleted after leaving, or want to raise a complaint, contact the team via #ticket-support.
No art solicitation
Due to an increase in art solicitation, we are enforcing a strict rule: anyone messaging members to solicit art will be immediately banned.
This server is completely free and run by volunteers. We do not allow people to profit off the community by cold‑messaging members for commissions. You can showcase your art — and if someone reaches out to you to commission a piece, that’s fine — but you must not solicit yourself.
If you receive a message soliciting art, please report it to staff so we can handle it.

We appreciate everyone who helps make The D&D Void what it is. Please react to the rules post in Discord so we know it’s been read and understood. Unless you are known to be away, or are currently in a game on the server, no reaction will be treated as inactive.
